Kim Kardashian’s Celebrity Branding Secrets

Why Kim Kardashian is a Business Marketing Genius

Kim Kardashian is a celebrity business genius.

Don’t get it twisted. I’m aware that before she was considered one of today’s top celebrity business women, Kim’s reputation was largely scraped from starring in an adult film with an ex-boyfriend.

I’m also quite aware that prior to said infamous sex tape scandal, Kardashian, though extremely beautiful and feminine, was, more or less, just another beautiful girl raised in affluence.

However:

None of this has stopped Kardashian from transforming one of the most humiliating situations in history into the longest 15 minutes of fame ever – all while pulling a steady fortune. She’s owns several highly lucrative celebrity businesses, and is constantly refining her business to make more money with every sensible opportunity that comes her way.

The question so many ask is, “Why does everyone seem to pay so much damn attention to Kim? What makes her so successful, even when it’s for the ‘wrong’ reasons?”

Some call it “luck.” Others call it “opportunism.” I call it “business savvy.”

Why Kim Kardashian’s Celebrity Businesses Are Successful

Kim’s Passion Keeps Her on the No Sleep Team. Kim’s a passionate workaholic who’s known for being up at 6 in the morning, every morning. Arguably, you could say being famous for nothing in particular isn’t a hard thing to do, but here’s my point: While many people fight against waking up to the alarm clock because they want to live in their dreams, Kim’s living her dream 24/7.

Kim Understands that Sex Sells. Cliché but true, sex is a huge marketing tool for savvy business people, especially celebrity women. Kardashian is gorgeous beyond words, but she rounds out her physical beauty with an intangible sex appeal that keeps viewers and fans glued to her – and she takes that straight to the bank.

Any woman can learn the secrets to sensuality. Any woman can fine-tune her inner sex kitten. But not many women will bust open a can of sex kitten and whoop your arse with it the way Kim will. Although sex and sensuality are increasingly mainstream, there’s still a touch of taboo around their mention that makes for an alluring marketing concept when performed correctly. Watch and learn.

Kim is an Effective Marketing Muse for Her Audience. Women don’t really believe Kim’s amazing body is the result of devoted use of QuickTrim pills and Skechers ShapeUps. Physically, Kardashian’s curvy figure, toned glutes and lush beauty represent a cosmetic ideal many women in her audience strive for.

Kim’s ability to promote her idealized beauty with the right product to her enchanted audience translates to amazing sales when the marketing message is appropriately designed with them in mind.

Kim Stays in Her Lane. Brand management is all about understanding what you represent and the messages you send. When your personal and professional brands are consistent, you can acquire consistent success when it comes to promoting and endorsing certain things.

Kim sticks to creating or marketing products that collaborate well with her brand: nail polish, Midori® licquer, jewelry, butt-enhancing fitness shoes, weight loss supplements, fashion apparel, etc. If Kim ever decides to endorse something completely incompatible with her brand – let’s say the next Call of Duty video game, for example – then it would backfire and destroy her brand integrity.

Kim is no joke! Her empire is rumored to be valued over 100 million + and growing. The key ingredient about Kim is that she knows how to engage her community online.

She is very in tune with her followers and truly listens to what they want. She speaks to them directly while other brands or celebs keep fans at arms length. Instead of only lasting 15 minutes like most would-be one-hitter quitters, she learned how to tap into that fame and turn it into an empire.

Instead of a TV show, she has other products to build on to keep that spotlight a little bit longer. As long as she creates products fans love, she will be there for a very long time. My hats off to her because she is doing it better than all of us. Good for her!

      Hey Sonia!

No Kim is not a game – and nobody to play with.
Her transparency is what pushes her to the top – other brands and businesses refuse to be as transparent when it can really help their business!
