SFA Brand Development

I wanted to share my branding story for SFA…

Branding Sexy Focused Ambitious Marketing Hip Hop
I didn’t know who or what the group was, period. It’s a big freak accident started from trying to keep in touch with Linx and Tee.

My cousin, Christina, Benin Brown, Teresa Clark, Natalie McNeal and several other peers have been silently pushing me to create a brand for it… but figuring out what this group was…was crazy…. such a freaking mashup.

I was looking for elements for my redesign, which is going to be handled in two phases: SEO linking structure and overall branding.

Benin analyzed my favorite colors: Black, cerulean and hot pink. He gave me a crazy ass analysis that really made a lot of sense and he didn’t even know all of that about me. Hot fiery blue and bright elements were always a part of my vision for the site.

I searched for black and gold – I wanted a watch the throne type feel of hip hop excellence. I saw a black and gold dragon … and earlier someone told me it was the year of the dragon (2012)…. so I was like hmm, let me look – and it was. Atop of that I’m a “Rat” which is similar and compatible to the Dragon.

Dragon’s are one of the fiercest creatures of legend. They make their own rules, they are usually successful when they do, they prefer solitude and being alone – making them look arrogant and snobby… and they work themselves a lot to accomplish their dreams – sometimes where they feel .. bored and unfulfilled with life. In short – it sounded like a page from my life story and furthermore the aspects of my personality and brand I represent.

So I pulled together this look … and have two fiery dragons, one hot, one cool… the colors and logo will be professionally tweaked… but as I pulled this together SFA “named” itself as Hip Hop Marketing, Media and Entrepreneurship…. and that basically is my brand …. and when I tell the “story” of me and the story of SFA, I’ll be weaving all of these elements to connect to the readers and visitors.

I hope this serves to inspire you. Thanks.
