Longer Story
I believe we were put on Earth to embark on our own personal odysseys. To learn what exactly? Who knows?! Nobody can tell you why you’re here, or what you were meant to do except you – but you’ll be tricked into thinking otherwise if you’re not careful.
And that’s part of my story.
I’ve spent a strong portion of my life struggling with feelings of inadequacy. I cried, lamented, bitched, moaned and sunk into deep depressions. All due to futile attempts to be accepted for everything… and to allow the wrong things and people in my life… so I could feel loved and liked for all the wrong damn reasons.
It was during my darkest hours that I realized keeping it real was the first step to gaining respect and street cred from others – and I had to start by keeping it real with myself first. Spending lots of time alone in different periods of my life allowed me to uncover my strengths, quirks, flaws and obsessions – like finding a way to put a sexual slant on everything – and embrace them as part of who I am. And that person doesn’t fit into the traditional 9-to-5 mold most of the time. (Another thing I struggled with and hated my black ass for!)
As a result, I’ve flipped the game on its head. I learned how to monetize my weaknesses.
Now I help others do the same.
My passion is residual income.
Because of residual income, I have an unshakeable sense of spiritual peace and security, even when things around me seem to be crumbling. That’s because even when the economy is “frail,” even when people can’t afford to pay me… even when I have the flu and can’t get out of bed, I know I’ve created steady streams of income for myself.
I will pay me on time no matter what happens.
My quest for personal self-sustainability is important to me as a woman. A divorced woman who hopes to one day remarry and be a stay at home wife and mother – but is resolved to never be financially dependent on anyone if she can help it.
It’s also important to me as a Millenial woman. Our current American economy caters to nobody, and financially speaking, it’s every Doll for herself. The Industrial Age as we know it has dissolved, and despite how charismatic Obama is, I won’t depend on any political leader – or government structure – to provide the lifestyle I want – because whatever I want, I have to go get it myself.
I’ve dabbled with affiliate marketing, but my real moneymaker has been self-publishing. See, I’m a communicator… and a long-winded one. Especially if we’re talking about sex. (Blame it on Jodeci. Diary of a Mad Band is the first cassette – yea, cassette - I ever owned, and The Show, The Afterparty & The Hotel is probably one of my favorite albums ever.) So if you give me a topic I can find interest in, then I can develop a product or program to explore one or more aspects of it. My favorite medium currently is Kindle – I’ve published about 7 or 8 products via Kindle, and they are in constant refinement for quality assurance.
My educational background includes degrees from Bard College (via Bard High School Early College), Kaplan University and Full Sail University. (In fact I have an Internet Marketing Master’s from Full Sail, and another Master’s for Media Design in progress as we speak.) Despite this, I’m not a fervent pusher of collegiate education to get ahead. I actually think it’s kind of a trap too, if you’re going for the wrong reasons.
